Katie Jepson is a PhD researcher in linguistics with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language and Research Unit for Indigenous Language at the University of Melbourne. Katie's research area is in language description focusing on the phonetics and phonology of Indigenous Australian languages and languages spoken in Melanesia. Her current research investigates aspects of the sound system of an Indigenous Australian language of Arnhem Land.

Katie has also been involved in developing the Linguistics Roadshow, an educational and engagement program for high-school students which began in 2015.
