My primary research interests address the role of science in conservation practice; evaluating conservation effectiveness; and the intersection between synthetic biology and conservation.

My previous work has involved protected areas, subsistence hunting in the neotropics, neotropical mammal biology and conservation, and the intersection between traditional peoples and conservation.
