Acting Head of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise, University of Huddersfield

Kiara has published research in the areas of exercise psychology including adherence to exercise, children’s engagement with exercise, obesity in childhood and exercise and mental health.

Kiara came to the University from a Health and Fitness Development post working to promote physical activity in sedentary populations. She continues this work locally as an Executive Board member of ‘Everybody Active’, regionally as a Central Committee member of YoPAKE (Yorkshire and Humber Physical Activity Knowledge Exchange) and internationally as part of the Health Enhancing Physical Activity (HEPA) children and young people working group. Kiara is passionate about the health enhancing potential of physical activity and is supervising post graduate research in the areas of exercise and breast cancer, stroke, multiple sclerosis and mental health.
