Kim-Kwang Raymond Choo

I have (co)authored a number of publications in the areas of anti-money laundering, cyber and information security, and digital forensics including a book published in Springer’s “Advances in Information Security” book series, a book published by Syngress/Elsevier (Forewords written by Australia’s Chief Defence Scientist and Chair of the Electronic Evidence Specialist Advisory Group, Senior Managers of Australian and New Zealand Forensic Laboratories), six Australian Government Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) refereed monographs, 13 refereed book chapters, 63 refereed journal articles, 40 refereed conference articles and six parliamentary submissions.

I am the co-inventor of two provisional patents on digital forensics filed in December 2014

I have been an invited speaker for a number of events in Australia and overseas (e.g. 2011 UNODC-ITU Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on Fighting Cybercrime and 2011 (Ministerial-level) Korea-Australia-New Zealand (KANZ) Broadband Summit 2011) including delivering Keynote/Plenary Speeches at ECPAT Taiwan’s 2008 Conference on Criminal Problems and Intervention Strategy, 2010 International Conference on Applied Linguistics, 2011 Economic Crime Asia Conference, 2014 International Conference on Applied Linguistics & Language Teaching, Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG)’s 2014 Counter-eCrime Operations Summit (CeCOS VIII) and the 2014 International Conference on Cyber-Crime Investigation and Cyber Security; and Invited Lectures at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies, Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security and Singapore Polytechnic. I was also invited to participate in the 2012 Coalition Parliamentarians Online Safety Working Group’s roundtable (established to consult with key technology, education and cyber-safety leaders, as well as other interested parties, to further develop its online safety policy in the areas of education, regulation and enforcement), and the 2012 Shangri-La Dialogue.

I am the editor of IEEE’s flagship Cloud Computing Magazine's “Cloud and the Law” column, the co-editor of Syngress/Elsevier’s “Advanced Topics in Security, Privacy and Forensics” Book Series, and the Research Director of Cloud Security Alliance Australia Chapter.
