Laura Tanguay is a first year PhD student in the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University. In her doctoral research, she investigates the environmental histories and repercussions of the DEW Line, which sprawls across the Arctic. Engaging with concepts of environmental justice, militarization, and institutionalized 'othering,' she connects facets of neoliberalism with public complacency in the disruption of natural landscapes for state-driven capitalistic interests.
