Professor of International and Comparative Politics, Saint Louis University – Madrid

Laura Tedesco is Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences in Saint Louis University/Madrid Campus. She conducts research in the field of Political Science. She analyzes contemporary politics in Latin America, especially issues on democracy and political leadership. She has taught at Universidad de Buenos Aires, Warwick University, University of East Anglia, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Instituto de Empresa. Her doctoral thesis was published in the UK and in Argentina ((Democracy in Argentina: Hope and Disillusion, Frank Cass, 1999 and Alfonsín de la esperanza a la desilusión, Nuevo Extremo, 2005). She has been consultant to UNICEF, DFID and Agencia Nacional de Promoción Científica y Tecnológica de Argentina. Together with Rut Diamint, she published two books on political leaders (Democratizar a los Politicos, Madrid: Libros de La Catarata, 2013, and Latin American’s Leaders, London: ZED Books, 2015)
