Lawrence McIntosh

Senior Research Consultant, Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology Sydney

Lawrence bridges the technical and commercial sides of the energy industry with a focus on renewable energy. He joined ISF in 2015 to focus on the challenges of integrating renewables in to the grid.

In recent years Lawrence has done consulting work for clients such as Canadian Solar and ActewAGL Distribution in roles ranging from site selection and de-risking for MW scale solar projects to network studies, electrical connection guidelines for embedded generation and as project manager for embedded generator installations.

Lawrence has a keen interest in startup and lean business models and is involved in a number of startup ventures including as a founder and project leader of SolarShare, a community owned solar energy company in Canberra. Lawrence is also a partner at PV Lab Australia: a solar module testing laboratory, and was previously CFO at Great Venue: a disability awareness and accessibility web service.

Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Engineering (1st class hons) Majoring in Sustainable Energy Systems and a Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Finance from the Australian National University
