I work on problems in volcanology, petrology, geodynamics, fluvial and glacial geomorphology. Active projects include the eruption cycle, melt focusing and crustal thickening in arcs, landscape evolution in volcanic environments, supraglacial hydrology, the origin of unsteadiness in volcanic eruptions, and the interpretation of long period volcanic seismicity.

My research involves a combination of theoretical and numerical models, field measurements, and laboratory experiments.
