Dr Leith Campbell is an occasional consultant on telecommunications regulation. He was a principal consultant with Ovum, the international ITC advisory firm, for six years. In that role he advised many telecommunications regulators around the world, especially with regard to economic regulation. Prior to Ovum, he worked in technical areas, having held positions in industrial research laboratories (Bell Labs and Bellcore in the US; Telstra Research Labs in Australia) and universities (Cambridge and Durham in the UK; and as CEO of the Australian Telecommunications CRC in Australia).
Dr Campbell holds a Ph.D. from the University of Adelaide and is a member of the IEEE. He has been appointed as an honorary fellow in the Melbourne School of Engineering.
