I have an MSc (Econ) from Birkbeck College, University of London in Politics and Sociology (1994), and a BA from National University of Ireland (Galway), in Politics, Sociology and Legal Science (1992). I am the sole author of two monographs, The Demands of Motherhood (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012), and Abortion and Nation (Ashgate, 2005). I have also published journal articles and book chapters on motherhood, conceptualising family lives, and the moral politics of breastfeeding, abortion and sex education.
