I am the author of The People's Republic of Amnesia; Tiananmen Revisited, which was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize. I worked as a Beijing-based correspondent for NPR and BBC for a decade, and now I teach journalism at the University of Melbourne, and co-host the Little Red Podcast.
