Professor of Space Systems Engineering, University of Bristol

Lucy Berthoud is a Professor of Space Systems Engineering at the University of Bristol. She has a PhD in Space Physics from ISAE, Toulouse and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Bristol. She has worked in the Space sector for twenty-five years on interplanetary spacecraft missions to Mars, Venus, Mercury, Moon and comets. She teaches Space Systems design in the Aerospace Engineering department at the University of Bristol and moonlights for Thales Alenia Space UK on Mars Sample Return missions 1 day a week. Before that she worked for Airbus Defence and Space and was a visiting scientist at NASA Johnson Space Center and at the European Space Agency.
