Luis R. Fernandez-Carril

Dr. Luis R. Fernandez-Carril is a researcher on international climate policy and climate change ethics. For the last two years he was advisor and Chief of Staff of the Special Commission on Climate Change of the Senate of the Republic of Mexico, LXIII Legislature. In 2018 he was appointed as Lead Author for the 6th Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 2018-2021 and also served as advisor for the Mexican delegation during COP 23 in Bonn, Germany, 2017. He has also been a researcher in the Climate Change Research Program of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is currently professor of Philosophy at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, teaching the subjects of Philosophy of Science and Ethics. He obtained the PhD degree summa cum laude in Philosophy of Science in May 2014 from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Mexico City.
