Dr. Malcolm Jorgensen is a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Heidelberg, and a non-Resident Fellow of the Berlin Potsdam Research Group on the "International Rule of Law", Berlin, Germany. He holds a PhD in in International Law and American Foreign Policy from the Sydney Law School, University of Sydney, where he lectured in Public International Law and remains an associate of the Sydney Centre for International Law. During his doctoral studies Malcolm was resident at the United States Studies Centre, University of Sydney, where he was a Research Associate and Lecturer in American politics and foreign policy, after which he served as an Assistant Director in the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He is an experienced broadcast and print media commentator and his research focuses on the politics of international law, foreign policy analysis and comparative international law, and the future of global legal order. His doctoral thesis has been published with Cambridge University Press as 'American Foreign Policy and The International Rule of Law' (2020).
