Maleka Femida Cassim

I am a Professor of Company Law in the Department of Mercantile Law at the University of Pretoria. I am a qualified medical doctor, as well as an admitted Attorney and Notary Public of the High Court of South Africa. I specialise in Corporate Law and Commercial Law, and am the author and co-author of several leading books on Company Law.

I hold a postgraduate LLB and LLM, both cum laude, from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a PhD from the University of Cape Town. I obtained my MBBCh (with distinction) from the University of the Witwatersrand.

I continue to be involved in a professional capacity with the legal profession. I am consulted from time to time by attorneys seeking legal opinions, and have been invited on several occasions to present seminars and speak at prestigious conferences.
