Marc has recently competed a PhD in the School of Management on regulation and the performance of micro and small firms in the English Tourist industry. His particular focus has been to investigate regulatory knowledge levels (both perceived and actual) of micro-firm owner-managers, along with the impact of regulation on business performance and levels of perceived regulatory compliance.

Marc has also worked on regional development projects, most notably with Dr Phil Tomlinson on a report on the social and business case for a new motorway junction off the M4 to improve connectivity to Bristol and Bath Science Park (BBSP) for the Gateway2Growth campaign. The report was presented in Parliament and was influential in South Gloucestershire County Council securing £500,000 in central government funding to conduct a full feasibility study.
