Mariana Mayer-Pinto

Senior Research Associate in marine ecology, UNSW

I am a marine ecologist with a strong background on field experiments. My research focuses on how human impacts can affect marine diversity and systems. I am particularly interested on how multiple anthropogenic effects, such as artificial structures and contaminants, affect ecosystem structure and functioning. Understanding how biodiversity and ecological processes are affected by these threats is essential to be able to predict their consequences and create successful conservation and management policies.
