Marije has a background in communications design (distinction, Central St. Martins) as well as 20+ years as a commercial designer and 5+ years as an educator. Marije has nearly completed her PhD studies at Loughborough University on how design can stimulate conversations in ethical dilemmas, specifically on the debate around euthanasia in dementia. Her PhD was funded by Design Star (AHRC) and she has recently exhibited her work on euthanasia in dementia at the Dutch Design Week.
