Mark Butler has worked in drug discovery since 1994 with a focus on natural products and has extensive experience in preclinical research, drug development, group and project management, intellectual property and workplace safety.

Current research interests include the discovery and development of new antibacterial and antifungal drug leads to clinical candidates and mode of action studies using chemical biology and metabolomic techniques.
