Deputy Head of the School of Sport, Equine & Animal Sciences, Writtle College

I obtained a BSc(Hons) in biotechnology from the University of Reading before gaining a PGCE in science teaching at the University of Leicester. Following a brief period as a school teacher I studied for an MSc in sports science at the University of Essex and moved into HE lecturing. I joined Writtle College in 2006 as course manager for Sports and Exercise Performance and in 2009 I was promoted to my current position as Deputy Head of the School of Sport, Equine & Animal Sciences. I currently lecture in exercise physiology and provide sports science support through the Centre for Exercise and Health. My research interests are in pacing strategy in off-road cycling and the modelling of cycling power data.
