Associate Professor in Electron Microscopy, The University of Western Australia

I lead the Electron Microscopy Group in the Centre for Microscopy, Characterisation and Analysis at The University of Western Australia (UWA). Originally from the Wales, I joined UWA in 2001 following research and academic positions in the UK, US and Sweden. With a background in Physics, my research interests lie in the development and application of electron microscopy techniques for the nano-scale and atomic resolution analysis of the structure and chemistry of materials. I collaborate extensively with researchers in the physical, geological, and biological sciences on projects related to everything from carbon nanotubes to pigeons. I am currently President of the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society.
