Dr Lloyd-Jones is an addiction medicine specialist who has worked in the alcohol and drug field for over 20 years. He has worked in leadership roles in private practice settings as well as in public hospital and community clinics and is actively involved in medical education and clinical research. He has been a regular presenter at national and international conferences and reviewer for a number of peer reviewed journals as well as providing expert opinion to the media on addiction related matters. As well as being a passionate advocate for evidence-based interventions (such as medically supervised injections centres, needle and syringe programs in prisons and managed alcohol programs) he has a particular interest in decreasing the stigma of substance use and developing new treatment paradigms for individuals with addictive disorders including the provision of compulsory treatment in the AOD environment.
