I am health researcher and midwife who has worked in the fields of maternal and infant health and infant feeding for more than 35 years. My work aims to inform policy and practice and to reduce the impact of social and health inequalities. I am currently Professor of Mother and Infant Health at the University of Dundee, Scotland. I was inaugural Senior Investigator with the National Institute for Health Research, and I have advised the World Health Organisation, Unicef, governments and national organisations on maternal and infant health and on infant feeding.
