Pro Vice-Chancellor Researcher Development, Deakin University

Alfred Deakin Professor Matthew Clarke is Pro Vice-Chancellor Researcher Development. His area of research is international development, aid, religion and development, and aid in the Pacific.

Professor Clarke has been chief investigator on various national Category 1 research grants valued at over $3m.

Professor Clarke has published or presented over 120 academic journal papers, book chapters and conference papers. He has also authored eight books and edited another seven.

Professor Clarke undertakes regular evaluations of community development projects in the Pacific and South-east Asia for various non-government organisations, with a particular interest in HIV/AIDS and health-related projects.
