Dr Matthew Hall is a Research Associate at Lancaster University and an Associate Academic at the University of Derby. He is also an 'Acting Editor' for the Journal of Gender Studies. He received his PhD in Social Psychology from Nottingham Trent University in the Spring of 2014. He has published peer-reviewed papers on gender and health; body image; discourse analysis and social media. In particular he is interested in understanding how gender is deployed in relation to the body, health and employment. He is currently preparing a co-authored book 'Chemically modified bodies: the use of diverse substances for appearance enhancement' and a 'Revenge pornography' monograph.
