Megan Teychenne

Senior Lecturer, Physical Activity and Health, Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN), School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, Deakin University

Dr Megan Teychenne is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Activity and Health at the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Deakin University, having taught at the tertiary level for nearly 10 years. Her research, within the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition at Deakin University, focusses on the link between physical activity, sedentary behaviour and mental illness (particularly anxiety and depression), with a key focus on targeting ‘at-risk’ population groups including women (including postpartum and prenatal women) and socio-economically disadvantaged adults. Her research in this area has gained national and international recognition, including informing the British Heart Foundation’s Evidence Briefing on Sedentary Behavior (June 2012).
