Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering, Brunel University London

I am a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering responsible to manage Undergraduate programmes, and admissions at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Brunel University. Prior to this employment, I was a senior lecturer, and postgraduate programme leader at the Nottingham Trent University and was responsible to lead research in construction engineering and infrastructures. My career began in 1999, working as a research assistant in Construction Robotics Unit at City University and then research associate at NTEC at Nottingham university. Following the completion of my doctoral research in 2004, I spent five years in the industry. During the first three years (2003-2006), I worked as a senior pavement engineer at Jacobs UK Ltd and two years at TRL limited as a senior highway engineer. During the time at industry, I coordinated pavement design team for several high-profile design and rehabilitation projects for national and international clients, contributed to revision of design standard, and research projects for DfT, Highways England, local authorities and private consortia. In 2005, I completed my professional review to become a Chartered Engineer.
