Myra Gurney has a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Diploma in Education from the University of Sydney plus a Master of Arts in Communication and Cultural Studies from UWS. She is currently completing a PhD at UWS on the politics and discourse of the climate change debate in Australia. She teaches communication theory, professional writing and editing and communication research methods in the School of Humanities and Communication Arts. Her research interests relate to the use of language in public discourse. She is an assistant editor of the Global Media Journal (Australia) http://www.hca.uws.edu.au/gmjau/
