Dean and Professor Emeritus, Louisiana State University

Dr. Nancy Clark served as Professor of History and Dean of the Honors College at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge 2003-2017, and as Professor of History at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo from 1989-2003. She received her BA in History and MA in African Studies at UCLA, and her Ph.d. in History at Yale University, studying under Professor Leonard Thompson.

Her publications include Manufacturing Apartheid: State Corporations in South Africa (1994), Africa and the West: A Documentary History from the Slave Trade to Independence (2001, 2010), South Africa: The Rise and Fall of Apartheid (2004, 2011, 2016), and numerous articles on 20th century South Africa.

She is currently working on a history of the Sharpeville community, Voices from Sharpeville, examining the beginnings of Sharpeville and the causes and impact of the 1960 massacre.
