Professor of Complex Project Management, WMG, University of Warwick

Naomi Brookes is a Professor of Complex Management at the University of Warwick. She previously held the prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering research professorship in Complex Project Management based in the School of Civil and Building Engineering at Loughborough University, United Kingdom. She combined this role with the Directorship of the European Construction Institute, a trans-european network of engineering construction organisations with regional headquarters in the Netherlands and Italy.

Naomi has a long history of researching project management across a wide variety of engineering sectors. She has succeeded in obtaining over €3 M of research funding and has published over seventy conference and journal papers in world-leading journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management and the International Journal of Project Management. Naomi prides herself on the practitioner relevance of the new knowledge she produces and has undertaken collaborative work with such organisations as Rolls-Royce, Arup, GKN, Exide, Ford, BAA, Centrica and DHL as well as organisations in the public and third sector.

Naomi is currently working on a variety of investigations into projects in the engineering construction sector that focus on the ‘soft skills’ and collaborating with universities from across Europe.
