Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh

Nathan Bahary, MD, PhD, is an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and a medical oncologist and hematologist at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Board-certified in clinical oncology, he received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York, now Weill Cornell Medical College, and his PhD from The Rockefeller University in New York. He completed his residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and a research postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Bahary's laboratory interests include identifying novel genes and pathways underlying normal gastrointestinal development and cancer, to both design rational molecularly-based disease markers for early detection of gastrointestinal cancers, as well as rational-directed therapies for their treatment.
