Nathan is Senior Lecturer in Social Policy and Social Work at the University of Birmingham, and Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Melbourne.

Nathan is currently undertaking a programme of research funded by the European Union concerned with the application of neuroscience to criminal justice policy. In particular, he is considering emerging understandings of neuromaturation and neurodisability, and their implications for policy and practice.
