Senior Lecturer, School of Property, Construction and Project Management, RMIT University

I originally graduated as an electrical engineer. After working in engineering for a period of time I developed an interest in property and moved to become a real estate agent working in the field of residential with some commercial property exposure. I eventually acquired my own business and after some 11 years sold the business and after a small amount of time moved into academia. I have been teaching property since 1999. Since then I have gained post-graduate qualifications in property valuation and a PhD. My PhD title was "Residential Agent Engagement with Energy Efficiency when Advertising in Melbourne" where I examined the extent of real estate engagement with energy efficient housing as I am believer they have a significant role to play in the uptake of more energy efficient housing.
