Nick Hytiris

Dr Hytiris is currently a Senior Lecturer in Geotechnics and Environments. He holds a PhD degree from Strathclyde University in research into “Novel Ground Improvement Techniques”.

He has substantial industrial experience in both the UK and Greece. He visited Greece on sabbatical leave for 10 months where he was involved with one of the largest highway projects in Europe.

Nick has actively participated in research projects for the Greek Government, Dutch company “Mega-tech Consultants” and English Contractors, “Powerbetter”.

Research/Subject Interests:
Nick’s research is mainly based on Ground and Materials Engineering, particularly in Ground Improvement and Land remediation techniques, as well as River Erosion Protection using geosynthetics.
