Associate professor, Swinburne University of Technology

I studied graphic design in the 1980s and entered the industry in the 1990s and worked in the areas of brand and publication.

In the late 1990s, the calling to education was strong and there was an opportunity to start working as a sessional staff member at the University of Melbourne.

Along with teaching, I continued to work in design working primarily in start up companies, establishing workflow in the studio, introducing good design practices and embedding an holistic approach to design thinking.

In 1998 I was appointed as Senior designer at the Media Centre at the University of the South Pacific. In 2000, I returned to complete my Masters of Multimedia Design at Swinburne Univeristy of Technology and commenced sessional teaching there.

I was appointed as a Lecturer in 2001 and have been here ever since in various roles in Digital media design and Communication Design, including Head of Communication Design.

In 2014, I became Program Director for Design at Swinburne Online while continuing to teach at Swinburne University of Technology School of Design. I have served on the National board of AGDA.

In 2018 I have returned Swinburne University.
