Reader in Theory of Probability, University of Sussex

My research is around Probability Theory. Probability is one of the few areas in math where the empirical intuition - that is usually associated to coin flips, lottery and dice rolls- must be rigorously justified with rigorous theoretical tools from Analysis and other areas. Perhaps, more than the potential justification of intuition, probability is there to destroy, annihilate and eventually clarify misconceptions about randomness that have percolated in our everyday life.
