Nieves Perez-Solorzano

Senior Lecturer in European Politics, University of Bristol

I am currently working on transparency and lobbying in the Brexit negotiations and on institutional change in the EU and the institutional architecture outlined by article 50 TEU.
I have previously worked on the involvement of civil society and interest groups in EU governance in the context of wider debates on participatory and deliberative democracy. I have written extensively on the impact of EU membership on civil society in the new member states from Central and Eastern Europe through the lens of Europeanization. I have worked on the impact of EU enlargement on the institutionalisation of civil society participation in the EU with a focus on the European Economic and Social Committee and the Social Dialogue and the European Union's new civil dialogue.
I am the co-editor with Prof. Michelle Cini of one of the leading textbooks in EU Politics (published by Oxford University Press).
