Oleg Golubchikov

Senior Lecturer in Human Geography, Cardiff University

Dr Oleg Golubchikov is Senior Lecturer in Human Geography, with interests in urban political geography, critical and post-socialist studies, energy geography, and sustainable cities. His research particularly interrogates the relationships between spatial governance and urban transformations in the context of major contemporary societal ‘projects’ including post-socialist and post-carbon transitions. His current research projects and collaborations are in the UK, Europe, in the BRIC and ex-Soviet countries. His research also informs international policies; he has advised the United Nations on aspects of urban development, low-carbon cities, and sustainable housing.
