My research work focuses on aid effectiveness and on the political economy of public sector reform, with an emphasis on anti-corruption issues in Sub-Saharan Africa. My policy advice work focuses on politically-smart aid and adaptive management. These research and policy issues intersect in my upcoming book "Why We Lie About Aid: Development and the Messy Politics of Change" (Zed Books, 2018).
