With Dr. Dylan Gee in the Clinical Affective Neuroscience and Development Lab, I study how the brain supports the development of emotional behavior and cognition during the transition from childhood to adolescence. Specifically, I am examining the developmental trajectory of frontolimbic circuits from a neural, behavioral, and clinical perspective. Additionally, I am interested in the timing effects of early environmental stress and anxiety on the developing brain. In another line of research, I am investigating brain network reconfiguration that may underlie the development of cognitive flexibility and how this affects typical and atypical social and emotional maturation.
