Patricia A. Stapleton is a political scientist at the RAND Corporation. Her research interests include science and technology policy, risk regulation of emerging technologies, risk assessment and communication, and the development and evaluation of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Her past work has examined agbiotech in the context of food safety and security and the regulation of biotechnologies used in ART. Before RAND, Dr. Stapleton was director of the Society, Technology, & Policy Program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She holds a Ph.D. in political science from the CUNY Graduate Center and an M.A. in French literature from Rutgers University.
