Doctorate Student, Northeastern University

Paula Amato is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for New England College. She is responsible for the Finance Department, Student Financial Services, Campus Facilities, Human Resources and the Payroll department, as well as all contracted services. In her role she is the liaison with three Board of Trustees' Committees, the Finance and Investment Committee, Infrastructure Committee, and the Audit Committee.

Prior to joining the world of higher education, Paula was the CFO at a warehouse and distribution company in the Manchester New Hampshire area for more than twelve years.

Mrs. Amato has specialized in financial reporting, budget planning, and human resources, while also spending much of her time negotiating contracts and writing policies and procedures. Paula's skills extend beyond these areas, as she is a strong leader with the ability to make difficult decisions. She has been involved in the development and implementation of several strategic plans, as well as, planning and development of several construction projects.

Paula currently serves on the Small Institution Committee of EACUBO and on the Henniker Economic Development Committee. She also consults for small businesses in the New Hampshire area focusing on financial management and strategic planning, including human resources and employer sponsored benefit plans.

Amato earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Southern NH University (formally NH College) majoring in Management Information Systems, her MBA from Plymouth State University and holds a CMA (Certified Management Accountant). Paula is currently completing her work in the Doctorate of Law and Policy program at Northeastern University in June 2015. Her research work has focused on the Affordable Care Act and the impact on business.
