Peta-Jane is a PhD candidate in law at the University of Western Australia. Her doctoral research explores the impact of border control policy and practice on the development and implementation of the Australian government's criminal justice response to human trafficking and slavery.

Peta-Jane combines her research with teaching activities. She has previously worked as a lawyer in Australia and overseas.
