Peter Booth is Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Senior Vice-President at the University of Technology, Sydney, where he was previously Dean and Professor of Management Accounting in the Faculty of Business. Peter is currently associated with the School of Accounting for research activities. Peter is a FCPA and CA, a former member of CPA Australia's Strategic Business Management Centre of Excellence, and formerly Associate Director (NSW) of Insite Connect, a collaborative outreach and research centre between industry and academia.

Peter has extensive teaching experience in management accounting at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His publications cover a wide range of auditing, financial and management accounting issues. Peter currently has three major areas of research interest: management control of inter-organisational relations (joint ventures, collaborative networks, etc.); the development and adoption of management accounting innovations in Australian firms due to the impact of increased global competition, and experimental studies of how decision makers form judgments under various circumstances.

Peter is a Board member of the Securities Industry Research Centre of Asia-Pacific (SIRCA) Ltd and of the Sports Knowledge Australia Pty Ltd. He served on the Executive of the Accounting Association of Australia and New Zealand from 1993 to 1997, having held the Education portfolio in 1993, Secretary in 1994, the Public Relations portfolio in 1995 and President (Australia) in 1996-97.
