Peter Holt is a Senior Lecturer at St George's. He runs a research programme on determining the outcome of patients within the health services, and in particular those undergoing surgical intervention.

He has performed a large body of work which has been widely cited on the outcomes of vascular surgical procedures, which led to the reconfiguration of this specialty nationally.

Alongside this work, he has an interest in maximising the benefit patients gain from surgery. This is addressed through a number of studies determining how we can predict the risk of patients about to undergo surgery, and how we can minimise their long-term risk after surgery.

He has previously performed work on determining patients’ preferences in receiving care, and has current studies underway in this field.
