Dr Peter Kambouris the leader of the Agile Manufacturing Technologies effort within the Future Manufacturing Flagship and is leading the development of the Flagships’ Information Driven Manufacturing agenda.

Prior to re-joining CSIRO in 2006, Peter was Queensland State Manager with Future Materials, an AusIndustry joint venture established to bridge the gap between industry and research organizations. He has also previously lead the applications / materials technical team at BioLayer, focusing on biomimetic interfaces for drug discovery and previously and was a Senior Research Scientist and Project Leader at CSIRO Molecular Science as part of the international collaboration with CibaVision resulting in the first extended wear contact lens.

Peter has over 15 years of experience in strategic and applied research across a raft of sectors and brings to this role a fresh lens gained through his direct experience in the transfer of research inspired innovations into the mining, advanced materials, health and pharmaceutical sectors.

Dr Kambouris also was awarded a Masters of Technology and Innovation Management, with Deans Honours, from The University of Queensland and was a founder and director of the Australian Nanotechnology Alliance.
