I write a daily political blog:

I travel to political event locations in New Hampshire and elsewhere to see political campaigns up close. I look at the intended and unintended message communicated. I perceive Trump as a skilled brand developer, whose appeal was badly underestimated. In professional wrestling archetype terms, he was the big, brutal “bad boy” character, the rule breaker, the selfish womanizing cad, but oddly charming to many people because he was so thoroughly comfortable as a con man. He solidified the religious right with his promise to appoint anti abortion judges, and Republicans with his appeal to ethnonationalistic patriotism.

It worked.

So I try to write objectively about this Trump Era.
