Prof Piyush "Pi" Sharma has more than thirty years’ professional experience, divided almost equally between industry and academia. He joined the School of Marketing at Curtin University in Jan 2014 and is a member of the Strategic Review Board of the Faculty of Business and Law, and the Academic Board of Curtin University. He serves as Associate Editor (Marketing) for Journal of Business Research and has served in the past as Co-editor for Marketing Intelligence & Planning, Associate Editor (International Business) for Journal of Business Research, Associate Editor for Journal of Services Marketing, Senior Editor (Marketing) for International Journal of Emerging Markets, and Regional Editor (Asia) for Journal of Knowledge Management. He is currently a member of the Editorial Review Boards for Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Knowledge Management, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Service Theory and Practice, Journal of Services Marketing, International Journal of Emerging Markets, Journal of Creative Communications, and Journal of Indian Business Research.

His research covers a wide range of topics, including services and international marketing, cross-cultural consumer behavior, self-regulation and regulatory failure, branding and marketing strategy, marketing-finance interface, organizational behavior and management, among others.
