Rachel Rich

Reader in Modern European History, Leeds Beckett University

Rachel has published in the history of food and eating, including a Manchester University Press monograph Bourgeois Consumption: Food, Space and Identity in London and Paris, 1850-1914 (2011). Her current project, on food in the households of George III and his son, the Prince Regent (future George IV) examines how food creates but also complicates national identities. This project, funded by the British Academy, is a collaboration with Adam Crymble (UCL), Sarah Fox (University of Birmingham), and Lisa Smith (Essex University).
