Raphael Taiwo Aruleba

PhD Candidate, University of Cape Town

Raphael is currently a PhD student under the guidance of Dr Ramona Hurdayal in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of Cape Town (UCT). He completed his MSc in the University of Zululand, working on identifying druggable proteins in Schistosoma species. His current research focuses on identification of host factors and natural drug therapies as alternative treatment approaches against human leishmaniasis in mammalian models. Raphael’s PhD research is supported by the UCT Science Faculty PhD Fellowship and Poliomyelitis Research Foundation for doctoral students.
